Frequently Asked Questions

Can new walls be finished to match an older property?
That is the aim on any extension or renovation. Tell us what the existing walls are built from and we will talk through how the new work can be finished to sit with it.
Do you lay driveways and patios?
Yes, paving is part of our masonry work, and paving or landscaping around a new extension can be priced in with the build.
Is the blockwork included in an extension quote?
Yes. Foundations, blockwork and any stone facing are part of the extension price and are built by our own team.
Where do you carry out stonework?
Across Cornwall, mainly around Truro, Falmouth, Perranwell Station and Playing Place.
Masonry is part of almost every project we build. Extensions and new homes go up in blockwork from the foundations, and many Cornish properties also need stone, whether that means matching the walls of an older house or building a boundary that suits the setting. The family home with a slate roof and dry-stone wall in our gallery is one of our completed projects. Our team carries out the blockwork, stonework and paving alongside the rest of the build, so the walls, steps and hard landscaping are finished by the people who built the house. M J P's extension included landscaping around the new build, and Andrew Walton had an old garage taken down and a driveway laid in its place. The cost depends on the material (block, brick or natural stone), the length and height of the walls, how much ground preparation and drainage is needed, and how easy it is to get materials to the site. Natural stone takes longer to lay than block, so a stone-faced wall costs more per metre. We mostly take on masonry as part of a building or renovation project. When you get in touch, tell us where the property is, what you want built, rough sizes, and what other work is planned.
