Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work from an architect's plans?
Yes. We build to the drawings your architect has prepared and work to building regulations throughout.
Do I need planning permission before asking for a quote?
You can talk to us at any stage, but a firm price needs the approved drawings, because the design decides most of the cost.
Who carries out the roofing, plumbing and electrics on a new build?
Specialist subcontractors we use regularly. We fit them into the programme so their work follows on from ours without long gaps.
Do you build new homes outside Truro and Falmouth?
Yes. We work across Cornwall, and most of our projects are in and around Truro, Falmouth, Perranwell Station and Playing Place.

We build complete new homes across Cornwall, mostly in and around Truro, Falmouth, Perranwell Station and Playing Place. We take each one from an empty plot to the finished building. That covers setting out and groundwork, foundations, blockwork and the roof structure. It then runs through first and second fix to the finishing work that makes it ready to live in.

We build to your architect's drawings and to building regulations. Imogen Vafidis's home was a new build on a green field site that we took from the architect's plans to completion. Denise Stevens wrote that we built her home from start to finish while staying respectful of the houses next door.

Groundwork, structural work, carpentry and finishing are carried out by our own people. Roofing, plumbing and electrics are handled by specialist subcontractors we use regularly, and we schedule their work around the build. Our gallery includes a pair of new homes in render and cedar cladding and a contemporary house with standing-seam cladding and sea views.

The cost of a new build depends on the size and design of the house, the ground conditions and foundations, access to the site, and the finish you choose.

For a quote, send the site address, where you are with planning, your architect's drawings and any structural engineer's details you already have.
